[X-Bit]AMD Rumoured to Be Up for Sale Again: Dell May Be the Buyer. - Page 8

New name: Daamit Dell
Oddly enough I say this at least 3 times a day at work.

Honestly, if this is true , I'd be slightly worried about Dell's preferences. In contrast, worried about AMD.

I find this to be odd

on the chocolate it has AMD+DELL?

Edit: I guess it's a partnership thing.

I think this move would have AMD strive better in the OEM client sector, and depending on the popularity of Dell servers (it appears this entire college/uni is working under Dell based servers/PCs), then it could look good for AMD.

In the end Dell would basically be purchasing from themselves. So ya, you're right. It would not be a good move.

Edit: Hey duckie, are you able to move this to the rumor section?
Oh yes totally perfect logic. Dell buys AMD, but Dell keeps AMD name, HP/Acer/Gateway/Toshiba etc are all fooled even though Dell/AMD's files are basically public. If I was the other OEM's I'd stop buying Intel until AMD bankrupts and Dell is removed from the competition as stock holders flock to leave Dell after a $12B loss.

Sorry but buying AMD would mean the death of Dell and AMD. Why? First off AMD is not a $12B company. More likely worth $20b imo. Either way 12b or 20B it is far too much for Dell to put up specially after spending who knows what on marketing and customer service over the 2008~ Dell Hell fiasco.

As mentioned already by Duckie, Dell has no experience in CPU/GPU sales and would more then likely be a failure.

We will stand our ground against Dell, they won't get us!
well Considering 5 higher up employees have left AMD during the past 30 or so days it makes sense.
Maybe Dell is trying to pull the Apple formula and do a lot more than just assemble computers... *shudder*

How did you jump to that conclusion?

Dirk was ousted. The other two probably left after they got their bonuses.

Why do you think Dell bought Alienware?
