Thanks for the recommendation, I decided to go with the ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 AM3 DDR3 AMD 890GX priced at $139. I will more then likely keep the rest of the listed hardware above but I realize the power supply won’t be able to handle two 6950 video cards.

All I want to assure with this setup is that I can play any of the newer games at 1080P on my big screen TV. In a year or two or three, once I can't play any of the newer games at 1080P, I would like to buy another 6950 video card and set it up as cross fire. In this way I won’t need to buy more RAM, change the CPU or even change the video card… I can just pop in another 6950 and keep playing without to much hassle or $$$$.

How much watts would I need to supply two of these 6950 Video cards?

Thanks!

in my opinion dont wait more than 2-3 months, 6months maximum to crossfire.
in 2-3 years everything is going to be so much faster and games so much more demanding it would be a waste of money and barely any performance gain to get another 6950 after that long... but just my opinion I MAY be wrong.
But then again SLI/Crossfire scaling is much better now days and you might get a better increase even after that long but in my experience I dont think it would be worth it, then again my opinion

minimum also means graphics set on low. I think he wants all the eye candy included with minimal FPS lag.

or 850w to be safe

If he goes the 6950 route and then decides to unlock the additional shaders or even flash it, he will up the power consumption to close to a 6970 thus needing an extra roughly 40 watts per PSU. 750 is not enough. Play is straight and leave some room for overclocking that hardware!

800-850 watts dude.
