I agree. That mushkin didn't look all that promising. Discontinued here from what I could see too? Go with the one RabbitGT suggested.

I'm trying to choose parts for a upcoming build (as soon as my basement renovations are over (hopefully in 1 to 2 weeks). I'm trying to build myself a good gaming rig but as cheep as possible. I am choosing AMD for the processor to keep the motherboard and cpu cost down and spending the extra money I save on a high end video card. I will be overclocking slighly once I know the system is fully stable. I would also like to somewhat future proof the system and will probably cross fire an extra video card in the future once the system needs an upgrade.

My concern is if I should go with a 4 core AMD processor, phenon or Atlon or the 6 core AMD processors. Will the 4 cores be a future bottleneck if I decide to cross fire? if YES, should I consider investing in a 6 core 1055T or 1090T processor?

Please keep in mind I am trying to keep the cpu\\motherboard cost as low as possible so I can invest in a high end video card.

Here are the parts I chose for my build.

- MSI 870-G45 ATX AM3 870 DDR3 2PCI-E16 (cross fire board) (58$)
- AMD Phenom 1090T/1055T OR 965 ???? (prices from 100$ to 225$)
- XFX Radeon HD 6950 2GB ($319)
- Antec Truepower New 650W ($35)
- Thermaltake V4 Black Edition ATX Mid Tower Case ($45)
- MSI 870-G45 ATX AM3 870 DDR3 2PCI-E16 (cross fire) ($58)
- G.SKILL F3-10666CL7D-4GB Ripjaws CL7-7-7-21 ($43)
- Corsair Cooling Air Series A50 Performance CPU Cooler ($25)
I think 4gbx2 should be a requirement in gaming these days
