On to something here i72600k on UD7

hmmm i think i just noticed a pattern that was staring me in the face when OC this chip on this board.

Please excuse my poor use of punctuation as i am writing this right before i head out to class.

So annnywayyy, basically it seems i have discovered what has added to the instability of this board, maybe not the first time someone has noticed this or pointed it. Well i was in bios going back to an OC i have used in the passed, saved settings, when i got back into windows i remembered i didnt enable Internal CPU PLL overvoltage. I went back into bios enabled it, hit f10 then much to my dread my rig went straight into the reboot post loop , rebooted about 3 times and my OC multiplier settings were back to stock.

Is Internal CPU PLL overvoltage a really big addition stability in general ? I know it is possibly needed for anything greater than 5ghz , has anyone tried it without at 5ghz+ ? From the stuff i have read most people say they cant get over 5ghz without this enabled , isnt that where LLC 1 and 2 come in?

EDIT: Any time in the passed i have always had this function enabled, and couldt not for the life of me figure out why was getting the 3 reboot post problem, eventually the settings would be saved but probably after 2 rounds of this.

These are just some quick thoughts and i hope i have figured something out here!

I couldn't boot at 5GHz without internal PLL enabled. Even with LLC at extreme.

In general i don't think you can boot in to 5ghz without it or fun any length of time anyway. But could it quite possibly add to stability issues below 5ghz?

I can run without it up to x49, but anything x50 or greater needs it enabled. There are golden chips that don't need it until x53 or so, but they are few and FAR between.

Yeah that seems to be the consensus , so is it safe to say anything below 5ghz give or take a few Multis CPU PLL will add to instability ? On a less than golden chip ?
