Is there any current HDTV that will actually allow 120hz via PC?

Thread Starter
I've searched through this forum and found out that 120hz HDTV's will not show 120hz when used with PC...

Do any current HDTV's allow 120hz for PC gaming?

I do not know for certain but...

PC input refers to VGA connector which can not handle 1080p and 120Hz

Also are you intending to use the 120Hz just for video playback? I believe it is still not recommended for a gaming PC. In fact if you are getting a 120Hz TV for your PC make sure you can disable it and return to 60Hz mode to be on the safe side.

The true 3DTV sets should support it if you connect via HDMI/DVI. However, as to specific models, I don't know.

Yes, HDMI works if the TV has a true 120Hz input, not the interpolated/frame doubling "120Hz" sets with 60Hz input.

I don't think so except for those 3D TV's. I do not even see the reason in having a 120Hz HDTV if the source it no 120hz, makes no sense.

My 46" Toshiba Regza allows 120Hz (1920x1080) through HDMI cable. hope this helped.

No TVs yet support 120hz input.

VGA has no technical limitation on resolution or refresh rate, although the analog nature is a problem.

HDMI 1.3 cannot handle 120hz @ 1080p.

No TV or monitor currently supports 120hz over HDMI 1.4.

Existing 3DTVs accept a 60hz signal with two 720p frames at a time, one frame per eye. This also means 2 frames of input lag.

Yes there are TV's that support 120hz input, have been for years.

Here is the list:

Quote:
Mitsubishi® 1080p DLP® Home Theater TV: WD-57833, WD-60735, WD-60737, WD-60C8, WD-60C9, WD-65735, WD-65736, WD-65737, WD-65C8, WD-65C9, WD-65833, WD-65835, WD-65837, WD-73735, WD-73736, WD-73737, WD-73833, WD-73835, WD-73837, WD-73C8, WD-73C9, WD-82737, WD-82837, L65-A90

These are officially support by Nvidia's 3d vision, therefore it supports 120hz input via hdmi.

Incorrect. VGA can do 1080P just fine (think of older CRT displays which could do massive resolutions over VGA). I am fairly certain that VGA will do 120Hz as well (again, older CRTs had much higher refresh rates than current LCDs do).
