CPU suggestion needed for general home use - Page 3

@Mitche01 No worries, I think my question was answered just fine.

I'm deciding to go with the Athlon II X3, more than happy to pay and extra $15 or whatever for a third core.
If anyone is interested in taking a look at the planned build here is the link.

https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/M...px?ID=16680266

Total cost is $540 because I decided to replace the included PSU with something a little more reliable.

EDIT: Link only works if you're logged into newegg, adding individual links now.

I have an ASUS optical drive in there too, no real reason to link it though

The one thing you don't want to do at all is unlock that 95W processor on that board with a mere 3-phase power or overclock too far. 95W is the max TDP on that motherboard.. For $5 more ($5 less after rebate) get A880G+, 3+1 phase slightly more acceptable.

This Crucial 1333 CL7 RAM costs the same and is much better. Do not get the generic Patriot memory when you can get this for same price (when it's back in stock, restock usually happens quickly for this kit)

Also, since you don't need included power supply, how about this case for a great $40?
