Asus p8p67 cold boot problem.

Hey ocer's everytime I cold boot my computer it has a red light turn on, the mem ok light. So I have to turn it off and turn it back and and then after the bios screen a screen comes up that says memory overclock failure. It makes me click f1 and then it loads right into windows... I wouldnt have a problem with this but I think when it oes this it clears my bios and all my cpu overclocks go down to default settings.

I have not overclocked my ram, its ballistix 3x2gb sticks of ballistix ddr3 1600 ram 8-8-8-24 with a cas latency of 8. Could this possibly be because I am running 6gb of ram and the sandy bridge mobo's arent triple threaded or w/e? When I get home I am gonna try to go down to 2 sticks of ram and see if that fixes it. if thats the case would going up to 4 sticks make it work the same as running 2 sticks?

I would definitely remove a stick or add one

4 sticks should not be much trouble at those speeds/timings.

It will be more difficult to clock/tweak and troubleshoot then just running 2.

I once had this problem to.
After clearing CMOS and manually entering the correct Speeds, Timings and voltages, it worked. Be sure to take note of any other settings you changed in the BIOS.

I would read the first page of this thread. http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...d-drivers.html

It shows you how to clear the cmos etc.

After clearing cmos, removing batter. Try hitting the memok button, or booting with 1 stick.

Take the battery out and clear cmos, try 9-9-9-24 timing and set voltage to 1.65 with 2 sticks and dont use xmp option set it to manual. Ballistix should work fine with the board since its listed as compatible. I did had problems with my team xtreem rams but it wasnt on the supported list.

Use new bios, this mobo is a mess, especially with the stock bios.

1204 seems to be working fine, I wouldn't recommend getting the new beta since it's, well, beta.
