WiFi Suddenly Stopped working [Lenovo G555]

Hi Everyone!

I have a Lenovo G555 Laptop with a built in Broadcom WIFI Adapter

Yesterday i was using it normally and suddenly the WIFI Networking stopped working.
  • I have the Latest Windows 7 Drivers for the WIFI Adapter
  • The Button on the front that enables/disables wifi and bluetooth is ENABLED

Also, i have a Dual Boot on the Laptop with Ubuntu 10.10, and the problem also happens there, so its not a configuration / drivers issue.
The Weird thing is that the Adapter appears installed both in windows 7 (Device administrator) and in Linux (lspci)

I have also checked the Mini PCIE slot where the WIFI adapter is attached and it seems to be OK..

So, what the f**k is happening?

I would appreciate any advice!

Look in the Device manager for something on there called Jungo. Uninstall, and You should be up and running. Dunno much on the Ubuntu side, but I run into that issue at work with Lenovo Laptops.

Thanks for the answer.

I have looked at the hardware manager and theres nothing called "Jungo"

Also, as i stated before, it doesnt work on Ubuntu, too.

I think its a hardware related problem

Well, some of our newer notebooks need bios update, and newest driver installed to work also. Uninstall the driver and try reinstalling it.

The weird thing is that both WIFI and Bluetooth are handled by the same device (Broadcom), and Bluetooth works perfectly, but WiFi, doesnt...

Awesome! I might be tempted to do the same to the one I have and see if that fixes it.

I just solved my wifi problem, i found that even thou you enable wifi by the front buttons there is also another switch on the keyboard you need to enable ("Fn Key + F5"). If you don't fn + f5 it, wifi will not work even if you reinstall windows (don't ask how i know that XD).
