3.6ghz stability issue on i7 860

Thread Starter
I'm trying to get a stable 3.6ghz just for daily long term usage.
180 bclk
20x multiplier
1800mhz 2:10 ratio 8/8/8/24/2N (rated at 2000mhz 9/9/9/27)
imc ratio 32x (only options are 32x or 36x)
1.30vcore
1.19250 vtt
1.80 cpu pll
1.65 dram voltage

180 x20 2:10 (1800) 1.19250v vtt, 1.20vcore, 1.65dramv 8/8/8/24/2N fail crash 8/10 laps intelburntest maximum 8 threads

180 x20 2:10 (1800) 1.19250v vtt, 1.30vcore (vdroop 1.32v), 1.65dramv 8/8/8/24/2N pass 5100.55s 10/10 laps

180 x20 2:10 (1800) 1.19250v vtt, 1.2750vcore (vdroop 1.29v, 1.304v), 1.65dramv 8/8/8/24/2N fail crash 3/10 laps

ran super pi 32m went through 10:20 70s
tryed prime95 blend lasted around 30 minutes.

should I go to stock timings on ram and try again, try new comination 171 x 21?

Your vtt is probably too low to support 8G RAM at 1800. Either try more vtt (max for i7 860 is 1.4v) or lowering the RAM ratio to 2:8. 1.3v seems excessive for 3.6Ghz; 1.2v, give or take a little, should be fine.

Consider using 160 with turbo and speed step enabled, using 2:12 for your RAM. I use this for my 7/24 OC (though 2:10 is all my ram can handle). You get a 3.52Ghz base OC, with single core execution up to 4.16Ghz and at idle the cpu drops to low power state.

if your ram slots are full then you need to up the voltage. Now if your running 2x 4 gb of ram the you should be ok at 1.3 volts and mess with your vtt voltages.

edit: Using turbo disables some of your cores depending on the multiplier.
not really what you want as your looking to keep all your cores active running whatever speed you looking for.

1800mhz 2:10 ratio 9/9/9/27/2N
Imc ratio 32x
1.20vcore (1.21vdrop idle, 1.224vdroop load)
1.25875 vtt
1.80 cpu pll
1.65 dram voltage

running prime 95 blend 8 threads, its finished 1024k, 8k, and working on 10k now. and yes all 4 dimm slots are being used, each stick is 2gigs. Turbo, c1e and c-state is turned off.
