Best value-for-$ Card for HD595?

Hi everyone, what soundcard would you recommend for gaming and enjoying (mostly trance) music with Sennheiser's HD595?

I've read excellent reviews on Titanium HD, Omega Claro and top Xonars..
but maybe you know some less expensive card that wouldn't sound SO different without spending 200$..

I'm new here, thank you for your suggestions!

Hi, could you give us an estimated budget, or an upper limit you're willing to spend?

HD 595 doesn't require amplification so the ASUS Xonar DX would do just fine, and it is fairly priced

Here is a good deal on it, open boxed:

I haven't a set budget as I have zero idea of the $/sound quality curve,
that's why I'm looking for expert advice!

Could 80-120$ get something appropriate for my 595, and would going higher give a substantial difference?

Or could a Xonar DX as BlahBlahBlah suggest be enough?

Yes it would be enough. The HD595s are rated at a 50 ohm impedance, nothing too high; consequently it would benefit from a sound card but not as much as say a HD650 which BlahBlahBlah seems to have(i'm jelly).

Ok, it's gonna be an Asus Xonar then

Just a last thing - PCI-E or PCI version?

On another thread I've read that one connection type could cause EMI-induced sound degrading due power being ruoted through the motherboard instead of cable.. or viceversa

Since you're in Italy, best bang for $$ highly depends on your local pricing, so what are they for various cards?

Italian prices for hi-tech are a fraud, but thankfully my sis would be getting them in the US for me, that's why I'm linking Amazon.com

I've decided for the Xonar, any reason why I should choose DX over D1?
(both my mb's pci-e and pci slots are free)

I'd say the choice of DX or D1 depends on how far away the last slot is from the video card. Since my motherboard places PCI slots farther away than PCIe slots, I bought the D1. The farther away it is, the less EMI it will absorb from the video card. Or so I think. The DX requires a power cable whereas the D1 does not.

There are some people who say that taking the DX over the D1 is more future proof. Whether or not this is true is kind of debatable.
