Not really... Those Quadrant scores are inflated with the OCLF. It inflates the scores because of the file write/read performance, but it does not truly reflect the phone's actual performance. Trust me on this, I have been a GalaxyS user for awhile before I finally gave up on trying to make the phone quick enough for daily use, while trying to squeeze out some sort of a usable battery life.

For christ sakes you guys are talking about synthetic benchmarks, phones are all about usability so thats what the OP should be aiming for. From what I can see, pretty much any phone with an 600mhz+ CPU, average GPU and a streamlined rom (cyanogenmod anyone?) will run fast enough for daily tasks.

I'm more than happy enough with my desire on CM7, the UI is lightning quick and it runs anything I throw at it nicely. Frankly this is all we really should be caring about

Ram has a lot to do with it too.

My Droid one fails at everything becuase of the pitiful amount of ram.

I'd suggest buying it from BB and paying the $10/mo insurance vs. Verizon's $7/mo insurance. There is no deductible on BB's insurance policy.

I haven't done a lot of research on it just yet, but that'll be your best bet. If you absolutely can't wait 9 days, the Incredible is an awesome phone.

Edit:

If the 4.3" size or TFT LCD turns you off, the Incredible is 3.7" and AMOLED (I think the new ones are SLCD)
Thats awesome how the thunderbolt is 4G now it makes sense why it took so long for it to come out. Now i wonder when the bionic will be released, that is going to be the fastest 4G phone it looks like right now.

Nvidia has stated that they plan to start rolling out quad cores in tablets in august I believe, and then have them in phones by Christmas.

subbed, I'm also interested. still have my "christmas present" $$ from gf for a new phone, the blackberry has to go lol. was really hoping the dual cores were to be released at CES, or at least the thunderbolt then.

when are the duals supposed to come out? and what phones are they? (verizon)

for verzion
i'm not sure
but you'll see a flood of dual cores this year, quad cores by Q4 IIRC

dont' worry
i'm holding out till 2nd gen dual core or maybe to a quad core phone (to let everything mature out a bit)

my SGS should keep me going for awhile especially with XDA devs releasing such awesome ROM's and tweaks
