Wish my temps where right, but they can't be.

Just installed my new 1090T with a Corsair H50 and when I fired it up I was shock at the readings. According to core temp it is idling at 13c and load with prime95 won't even crack 30c. Ambient is 20c, so idle is 7c below that? That can't be right, can it?

This is a new build, specs are in my signature. Had a Hyper 212 on a 965BE before the upgrade, that rain 25c idle and 41c load. I was told not to expect to much of a difference going to water cooling, but this is a significant difference. Would love to believe the numbers are accurate, but they can't be.
Anyone have any idea why I would be getting these reading?

I did replace the 1 stock H50 fan with 2 80CFM fans in a push/pull setup, still have a hard time believing the numbers.

Thuban core temps are known to reliably read 10-15C low. Judge by the socket temp, ignore or offset the core readings. 'Tis a "feature".

Of all the folks on OCN who own or have owned an x6, I've only seen one poster that actually had plausible core readouts.

You have a reading error. What are you using to monitor temps?

Use Core temp, didn't have time last night to try getting readings from any other program. At work now, will do that when I get home. Any recommendations on what gives the most accurate reading.

All programs will give erroneous core temperature readouts on an x6.

Some programs like CoreTemp you can add an offset value to give realistic values. However there is no program that will return accurate core temps for Thubans, It is basically due to a design flaw.

AMD core thermal sensors do not return *actual* temp values. They report a register value to the northbridge, which then is fed into a formula that renders temps. Catch being the equation for Thuban CPUs is completely wrong and reliably reads 10C-15C low.

Ok, so guess I will need to set up the offset in Core Temp to get a more accurate reading.
Thanks for the info Skripka.

What temps are you reading in BIOS? That should give you a ball park figure to use as an offset. I believe I went with 11 or 12 using CoreTemp's offset feature.

Otherwise, try Aida64 (formerly Everest). I got good reading without having to offset.

ive seen this on my old AMD CPU ive found that mostly all AMD core temp probes are donked , Basically useless , have you got something to measure the air in the rad and air out or can you see what temp your ambient is at as i will help
