Weird. Is there an option in the asus utility that basically says "use this utility to control my wifi card"? In the linksys one that I have, it has that capability, and then just disables the windows control--never had the issue where manually disabling the windows wifi config causes issues with the other manager program.

edit--what's the card/laptop and program version?

No it does not, however on my desktop there seem to be way less features, like when you right click the icon, a lot less stuff comes up. I've tried reinstalling as well. I don't really know what to do.

Try reinstalling your connection manager software.

You weren't willy nilly disabling services earlier were you? I know that's what I did the first time I had to deal with this.
