PSU Jumping for Pump

Thread Starter
When doing this should I plug in fans to molex adators to get a bigger load on it? Because last time I did this I didn't do the fans thing and on my third start up to get more water in it wouldn't turn on and I had to turn the entire computer on.

You should not need to at all. You should be able to get a PSU to power-on with nothing other than the pump plugged in-so long as you have the correct two wires jumped on the 24-pin power.

If you are having troubles getting it started, then yes putting a load on it sometimes helps.

It worked the first two times no problem (I used the PSU jumper that came with the RASA kit and checked the connections) and the third time it just would not turn on, it is a 1k w PSU so a really small load probably is why...
I read on these forums somewhere that if you start a psu (sometimes) with not enough power, it could damage it.

I usually have my 3 fans that run through my rad powered on as well as the pump. Seems to be adequate enough of a load. Better safe than sorry, I suppose.

Never had this problem myself, always just used a paperclip with no loads. But i guess you should give a shot with a load, not like itd hurt. Id even say try plugging it into an old HDD or ODD or something similar if you have one laying around.

I have a few of these from the GTs. Can I just plug the fan into the 3 pin and then the molex into a PSU molex cord?
