Hello everyone. I rebuilt an old system and havent done much AMD. When i try to run Oblivion the opening scenes are skipping. kinda tiling across the screen. It seems kinda slow too. Then the game is really choppy too. I have and old socket 754 DFI lanparty board, Athlon64 3200+, 2GB of G.Skill DDR400 Extreme series, and an HD4650. Computer has just been put together and everything is at default settings. Anyone have any suggestions? I havent updated the video drivers on the internet just installed the disk that came with the GPU. Im pretty sure this system should run Oblivion on at least medium settings but i cant even get it nice on very low. +1 for help please.

Also ive noticed that when the windows opening screen starts it kinda scrolls down the screen not just pop up. I kinda feel like my video is running slow but idk if its bad RAM settings or what.

You will need to manually tune each setting while in game. I was able to run it nearly maxed out at 1680x1050 resolution with an HD 4670, and slightly better CPU and RAM. There are some settings in that game that are performance killers, I just can't remember which ones they are. Maybe the grass settings? I was able to play it on some very ghetto looking settings (though at 1080p) on integrated 4200 graphics.

Thanks all. I'll try all this and +1 y'all in the morning when I'm off work. I think I have to tune my ram settings also. Neone familiar with that in the genie bios feature?
