Windows 7 on LARGE hard drive?

Thread Starter
I am working on a new system build and I have a few options for my system drive. I have a 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB drive which are available for use. I was just wondering if there is any advantage to installing windows on one drive vs another. Would it work faster on the 500GB vs the 2TB? All drives are 7200RPMs. I was considering using one drive for system files and one for data, but I wouldn't be opposed to having everything on one drive either. I'm sure the system drive is still going to get a little cluttered as programs are installed... Any suggestions one way or the other?

what is the cache on the drives? id prob use the 500 for windows and the rest for storage.

Speed is going to depend entirely on the qualities of each individual drive, I would look up reviews of your specific models.

That said, its probably best to put windows on the 500gb and use the others for storage, as you wont lose them when/if you reformat and reinstall the windows drive.
