Seriously, get a different ssd. Not worth the risk. Watch out for the older sandforce ones unless it specifically says it's 34nm. I think mushkin claimed they were still using 34nm, but that was a while ago so it may have changed.

That may have been ultra negative, there might be a chance of getting a good one lol .
Great. One of my 160gb velociraptors is failing and I really needed this drive. I went and made my decision based upon old knowledge, not knowing they had done this. I just knew that they were good drives with awesome speeds from 2010 information ( been busy as hell ) and splurged cause my raid 0 config has crashed twice now, making me do boot recovery. With success I might add. Just dont know how much longer they will last.

Don't get me wrong, their still ok, just overpriced. Did you get it yet? Just order a different drive from newegg, it should get to you in a couple days .

You don't have a backup drive you can copy everything onto? You could always grab a samsung f3 and when you get the ssd make it an external.

I got a 60GB Vertex 2 from Newegg two days ago and I'm confused. I expected the inferior 25nm version since it's late April, but I think I got lucky. Can someone verify?

The model number on the packaging contains an E
The drive arrived with 1.27 firmware
It formatted to 55.9GB
