O-M-G! awesome 11.2 - Page 4

The dude's actually right. My laptop just went from being incapable of running WoW on 1366x768 with high settings, to running this with the same settings on 50+ FPS in crowded areas to way over 60+ in other areas. I have no explanation for this drastical performance increase.

Going to try it on my 1920x1080 later.

Nice! I remember a Nvidia driver back in the day that gave people sick increases in laptop performance. It was like 169.21 drivers or something for the 8xxx series. I guess sometimes they do things to the drivers that click well with certain machines.

Good luck with it guys and thanks for spreading the word so people can find out for themselves if it gives them this much of a dramatic improvement. I know I really don't update my drivers often enough, and it takes me coming on here reading threads like this to remind me.

Well, there is the possibility of either English being a second language, or that the OP'er might be young; in either case, a simple reminder of the ToS would be in line, not mindless flaming.

Congratulations on getting higher FPS. Vsync locks framerates to the refresh rate of your monitor (since you specified that it drops your framerate I'm going to assume that your refresh rate is 60 hz). You'll notice that your framerate probably is its highest if you look directly at a wall, and when you look away it drops again. Vsync tries to keep that from happening for a consistent framerate, so while you don't get 90+, you don't get that general quirkiness when it drops into the 60's either. For me, it's about being playable, not achieving the highest framerate possible

Wow, some of you realy need to read the part of the TOS that states, treat others with reapect at all times.
Now, that is a good increase. If you don't get screen tearing, leave vsync of
