I didn't notice this being posted yet, so here it is. Sort of upset that it's a Verizon exclusive.
Here is a video of it in action from TechnoBuffalo.

Sony Ericsson officially announced the Xperia Play on 13th Feb 2011 in Barcelona. This is the first ever Playstation certified smartphone, and aims to be a magic combination of both a mobile gaming device and an Android smartphone. According to Sony, the Xperia Play release date should come in March (at Verizon) and will be available in both black and white.

O man i was hating on this phone when people were posting about it before. But now that it is going to have droid OS this could be a killer phone if it is done right. I hope it has a dual core processor and lots of memory!

negative on that
Its basically a HTC Desire HD (only phone I can compare to with spec wise) but with less memory, and instead of 2.2, it has 2.3.

Are you serious? You know i want to bash big companies for not putting out top notch products. But i really cant, its the consumers fault for buying mediocre stuff and being happy. This phone really should be a flagship, dual core, 1gb memory, 16gb built in 32gb memory stick capable and so on.

Close. 300MB's for applications not RAM, but that's only what's been found on these pre-production units.

The Sony XPERIA Play is the first Android smartphone that comes with Sony Playstation Suite. Inside you will see a 1GHz Scorpion ARM v7 CPU. Interestingly, the SE XPERIA Play processor also comes with Adreno GPU which supports 60 fps playback 3D mobile gaming and have a minimal power consumption. In addition, Sony Ericsson also add up a 512MB of RAM inside the XPERIA Play. The 512 RAM seems to be enough, but I wish that Sony would put a 1GHz RAM inside the SE XPERIA Play.

What do you mean by "300MB for applications?" And for the quote at the end, Does he mean 1GB of RAM, Or actualy RAM that runs at 1GHz?

EDIT: I read the source link and you mean it has 400MB of internal space, Not RAM. and the OS would take up 100MB of that space im assuming.

I was going to buy this phone when the rumours were floating around that it would have a two-core SGX543 GPU (instead of the four-core SGX543 in the PSP2), but with just an Adreno 205, it is a little less attractive, and not much better than my current phone.
