How do you: Install the reset/power buttons?

post #1 of 5

Hey all,

I just have a little dilemma. I won't be able to boot up my computer until tomorrow sometime so I can't test out if the power/reset buttons are properly installed.

I was just wondering in which way they go on. Does the metal inside the connector face up or down on a R3E motherboard? I always get them mixed up and don't want to get everything going only to realize they're backwards! Haha.

There's a power button, a reset button, 2 USBs, an audio and microphone jack, and some other connector that's unfamiliar to me.

Any help would be awesome.

Thanks so much!

It doesn't matter? If you have the ASUS R3E, then it comes with a handy little connection helper for all your power, reset, etc cables. It should look like this:

Okay thanks.

Is it true that the R3E only has room for one external USB? I'm just wondering because my case has 4 on the front.

Sorry =/

Unfortunately yeah lol. So you would only be able to use two of those I suppose. I had the same problem with mine, ended up disabling the USB's on the front of the case and used the USB spot for a card reader.

Most R3E owners that wanted to hook all the front case USB ports up installed something like this on the inside of the case.

I got one of these and it worked great, but if you want one get it now, Newegg says it is deactivated so NZXT may have stopped making it.
