How much gpu power do I need?

Thread Starter
Hey guys, i'm considering returning this asus gtx 560, and I wanted to ask, how much gpu do I really need?

I play a lot of TF2, Dragon age: origins, and mass effect. However, I want to be able to max out starcraft 2 on my 1080p screen, and I can currently do that with the gtx 560.

Should I just return it and get a different gtx 560? Or go with a lower end card? Brand doesn't really matter, I've never had problems with either.

I would say keep the 560. Because if you are happy with the performance and graphics in your games then you win! Why downgrade since technology in games will only become more demanding? You may regret not having your 560 around when a more graphically intensive game rolls around which you like. Keep it.

Yes keep your GPU. A 480 has trouble maxing out crysis when there's a lot of interceptors and a mothership xD

No one can answer that question for you. Some swoon about their gts 250s while others whine about their gtx 580s.

This seems an odd decision considering your enthusiasm for the Asus 560 given in other posts, but maybe unstated factors are at work here. Consider this: a performance loss always sucks.
