Corsair's main office is in Fremont, CA (right outside San Francisco). All of the support staff is there. Never heard of a Corsair RMA taking 6-8 weeks. If you need a replacement part ASAP just ask for an advanced RMA.

Much more than just brand recognition. PSUs / SSDs / water coolers, sure, ODM + custom Corsair tweaks. Probably the same for the air coolers. Redbeard dotes on the cases too much for them to be pure ODM creations, and they wouldn't have audio engineers on staff if they were standard ODM designs either (see the various reviews or CES interviews).
