i7 920 temps? - Page 2

If these are the real volts for your i7 920 with HT on at 4.0ghz prime stable for an hour, then you have a golden chip.... maybe the golden chip.

What seems weird is, you cut the screen shots in two and the temps seems REALLY high for such low volts at 4.0 with megahalems. It's almost like you took a screenshot of it posting at 4.0 at 1.192v with CPU-z open, then went back into the bios and raised the voltages to get stable at 4.0 and then took a temp screen shot.

Post up the whole screen with prime running for an hour with cpu-z and real temp open. I may just be paranoid and you could have really high ambients or a bad mount, if that is the case, I am sorry.

Lol, no way. I'm completely honest with these temps here.

I will get a shot up showing my entire screen while running Prime for an hour AND show you my bios just in case I did something wrong.

Thanks for the reply.

UPDATE: My PC just randomly restarted even AFTER I ran prime95 for an hour with the vcore on 1.20.
so I raised it one more notch. Will report back.

It's batch number 3946a168.

Alright guys,

I took some pics of my bios settings and my Prime95 running for 2hrs with Realtemp:

Think it could use any adjusting for lower temps or am I just about right here?

Thank you for all your help so far!!

One adjustment you need to make is raising your cpu voltage, worker 5 and 6 failed after just a few minutes of prime.

Wow, that's weird. How does it go through 2hrs of stress testing and only fail 2 workers?

Does that mean I am unstable? Is it really necessary to up my vcore just for 2 workers failing but no bsods?

Thanks.

Try raising your voltage a bit. Also, run LinX for 20 passes at max memory.
