Worst Case Scenario for PC Gaming - Page 2

I see what you are saying. But in my opinion even if no good new games are coming out right now, there will always be old games that many people still play and enjoy. I still play Team Fortress 2 almost everyday =D. I personally don't mind the switch to multiplayer games, it takes a couple days to beat a games campaign and when your done there is little replay value (unless its a rpg like ME2 or Fallout). Multiplayer is far more important and what keeps people entertained for years. Counter Strike: Source still has tons of people playing all the time and it was released in 2004.

I used to think just relying on old games was fine, but I started to notice how incredibly dull and over-modded the old CS community is, how BF2 servers are full of people in jets making kills off newbies with no one touching control points, and TF2 is now littered with people trading and many servers reporting false player counts.

There are still some good ones, but there's no telling exactly how long they'll last. It's a matter of years, but after that...

The big issue to me is that we all KNOW PC gaming won't just "die out". But it will change in ways we won't expect. Publishers have started to be kind of angry that we couldn't control our piracy urges, and are finally learning to adapt, by adapting games that don't sit well with piracy; Free to Play games, Multiplayer-only, DLC swarms, and much, much fewer singleplayer epics.

That's the worst case scenario. Rather than being stabbed and falling dead, suffocating to a horrible disease that leaves you crippled and useless, but undeniably surviving, for years to come.

Piracy hurts us but PC still has the most diverse and largest game library of anything. Developers are always coming out with new games and even though it might appear to be a dry spell for you, it's a great year for others. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

PC's have had HD since the 90's....

Man do I hate reading ignorant stuff like this

There is a list of games on consoles at what resolution. Have fun playing those one lower resolutions than the PC and at a lower frame rate with worse graphics to boot.
Before you try, and hopeless debase my argument, why don't you actually read it, comprehend it (if you can) and respond.

Never did I once say, nor assume that it's a dry spell. I was merely pointing the direction that the segment is headed in.

And as for this "trash" you speak of, I never once said that PC games are turning into rubbish. All I said was that our games are being handicapped due to certain aspects of the market. If an MMO is good, and I like it, I don't mind paying for it. Is that what you wanted to hear?

Ya, or just don't reply to my argument with that, that works much better assuming you are correct no matter what.

What's scary in my opinion is that consoles are getting more and more powerful soon the only advantage a pc will have over a console is a mouse and keyboard.

They have remained the same since they came out with only slight improvements to games.

Did you mean PC's are getting better and better :?

He's, somewhat, mistaken. The only leg-up they have is a growing base. If you ask Person A what he rather have, an Xbox or PC, with the given that they share the same games, they'll most likely respond with Xbox. Why? Because it's simple, that's what consumers want. The majority of people don't sit at their desks covered in Doritos. How come sports games have almost been eliminated from the PC, hmm?

Answer me that?

I'd just like to point out this link and challenge anyone to tell me that the PC isn't getting good titles this year.
