To a good, quality, mechanical keyboard. I was looking at the Zowie one but it's out of stock on Newegg. Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks for that. Noticed the mechanical keyboard guide and I skimmed through it. Seems like MX Cherry Black, and Red are best for gaming? I'm opting for red though since it has a more pleasant typing feeling?

Red is (was?) a lot harder to find when I was looking into getting a mechanical keyboard, so I ended up going with blacks. I got a Deck, and I love it.

I switched from a Logitech G19 to a Steelseries 7G, Cherry Black. I love it so far.

So if there are MX Cherry Black or Red keyboards anyone could recommend I'd appreciate it. If there is a red with black keys mech keyboard too I'd like to see it .

I believe that those switch profiles on the mech keyboard sticky are dangerous to new keyboard buyers. It's all too easy to look at the thing and go "WELLP! I'M A GAMER I GUESS IT'S BLACKS AND REDS ALL THE WAY FOR ME!"

Take a good hard look at the force diagrams, switch tactility, and noise instead of the "stereotypes" (blue typing, black gaming, brown middle) when considering what exactly you want from a mech.

Also, on MX reds, in my experience they are difficult to come by at a reasonable price due to their rareness.

Not really. None of them are bad for gaming. I personally prefer browns for gaming. They are easier to find than reds.

My personal preference, blues are best for typing, good for gaming; Browns are good for quiet typing, great for gaming; Blacks are terrible to type on, good for gaming. I personally use a filco brown and hh topre keyboard atm.

This all depends on if you intend to learn how to type without bottoming out. For example, my reaction time was much slower on G15 compared to my MXbrown keyboard as I'm able to actuate the key at halfway instead of full bottoming out on the dome G15.

If you don't intend to learn how to type without bottoming out, each keyboard (unless topre switch ie realforce and similar) will sound just as loud, and tactile feedback won't matter. The only thing that would matter is how light you want the keys to be when you press them, and the force is stated in the guide already. There's also another comprehensive guide in geekhack.org.

rosewill RK-9000 is a very good place to start. If you don't mind the noise from the Cherry Blues.
