Can't remember how to log into a computer remotely...

Thread Starter
So I'm trying to remember how to log into a computer on my network that I have admin rights to. I don't need to see a graphic display, just see the files. These are all windows base systems..

I remember its something like //network/computername//$

Anyone help out there? Because once into the computer, I can go by user name and see the files. I've done it before, just can't remember now. I believe its an old unix way that was built into windows. I can hunt down a guy to ask, but thought this maybe easier, because it can't be that unknown. There has to be some admin's here. And you have to have admin rights, so not just anyone can do it, so its not like a hack of any type. And it beats having to walk two or more buildings over to get into the system.

Here is the problem I'm having. An account is created and deleted by a different section. So, before someone leaves for good, the account is deleted. Only problem is, sometimes, someone comes to me and says something like "Oh I forgot to save this file that was on my desktop to bring to the next place, is there any way I can retrieve that file onto a CD"

This is completely for people who aren't access to sensitive information, and also are not moving on bad terms.

Conversely you should be able to access the default administrative shares by having domain administrator credentials.
