gskill eco won't boot at rated timings

previously running gskill 1600mhz 7-9-7 1.5v just fine

just put these in my TA890FXE and it defaulted to 1333mhz 9-9-9 , ok, normal

i go into bios and change to 1600mhz ~1.36v 2T, left everything else on auto, comes out 1600mhz 9-11-11

i go back into bios, change to 7-8-7-24, and get a CMOS Checksum bad error, so i try again at 7-8-8, same results

8-8-8 finally booted and is running memtest fine, but they're rated 7-8-7-24....

tried dram voltage all the way up to 1.5v still no boot at cas 7

anything else i can try before RMA? i can't even get to memtest at 7-8-7 since it clears my settings right when it boots (cmos checksum bad)

TA890FXE + PSC ICs = expect compatibility problems
Sorry but I think you're going to need a switch of boards or RAM

hmm arent ripjaws PSC too? i had no problems running 7-9-7 with my previous ram

Which Ripjaws? 7-8-7 or 9-9-9
G.Skill grab bags ICs, usually the Ripjaws/ECO 7-8-7 get (different-binned) PSC or Elpida BBSE
I think the 9-9-9 ones have slightly more variety

Had similar problem with my Eco kit (finally moved on to DDR3). Would only boot on a Biostar TA790GX A3+ on 1600 multiplier at CL9.
What worked for me was using 1333 multi and 240 reference clock to get the rated 1600and 7-8-6-21-1T, minimum voltage at 1.66V (sucky board?).
Still couldn't get CL6 though. Any thoughts, XD?

I would recommend you use the stated timing at underclocked and bootable settings. Work your way up to the most stable speed and volts. Go as high as you can with stability testing. It's normal for rams from gskill and ocz to not perform up to stated timing and speed.
