New build, thinking bout going X4 over X6 for gaming - Page 4

I'd really try and fit an aftermarket cooler in there, even if it's something like a $20 Hyper TX3.

Who says the case has to be green when you buy it? Order one of those inexpensive NZXT cases and some quiet fans, some masking tape, and [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Krylon-K02603000-Aerosol-12-Ounce-Amazon/dp/B000CO0BE4]this[/ame].

Spend some of that extra money on a CPU cooler that doesn't sound like a jet engine and a bigger monitor. Maybe this? It would go with the ASUS build theme you have going. tongue.gif

Yeah, this. It's like people from OCN forget that there are lower graphics settings than "maximum" or "very high"

Honestly...

Go with an athlon processor, get the 6850, this HDD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136534, and get a SSD if you really want to spend $1200 you will probably see better performance that way, honestly... plus it should be quieter

IMO. If you are already spending over a k bill on the pc, might as well get the x6. I spent ~$500 retail for my current sig rig. While I wouldn't stress the psu much with an extra videocard, a decent psu is another $60-80, decent videocard $100-$200.
Even at stock the x6's scream, and can OC around 25% without too much trouble or extra heat(with stock cooler) in a well ventilated case. Even though you aren't planning to OC.

PS: Your name is hexa ... why wouldn't you want a cpu to match?
