need a bit of gpu advice

Thread Starter
My sig rig has not been upgraded since 2008...it is getting somewhat old in terms of performance. I am centering my focus around bf3 later this year...and am thinking a gpu upgrade will be enough. Do you think a bottleneck will be at place with the q6600...keep in mind i'm only running at 1680x1050.

The other option is upgrade everything around a bulldozer system later in the year.

I rather doubt you'll see a bottleneck at those resolutions. Grab a shiny NVidia card as they seem to score better at lower resolutions atm. Maybe a 560 or 570?

I still think your system is great. We have similar system except of course tha brand of the RAM's and stuff. But what I need is a new power supply and video card. You only need a new video card..

There are perfect cards which are new in the market:
AMD 6870/6950
Nvidia 560Ti

Those are the best so far.

I hope it helped.

One more thing make sure your processor is at least at 3.0Ghz or above it will be perfect.

Trying going for 3.2Ghz it won't be bad at all to try. Its just a small increment but still helps.

Use these settings:

400
8
Core Voltage 1.3

Hope it helped.

You are very welcome. I'm glad it helped.
Trust me your system is still good. You don't have to assemble a whole new system.

I prefer a decent new video card over a new system with limited money for a video card.
