Hi All, I'm fairly new to the forums and I just build my first rig in a longggg time (i had a laptop the past few years as my primary)

Anyway, I started OC'ing it today and I'd like to know if im doing it right.

Specs:
i5-760 @ 3.66ghz
CM Hyper 212+ w/tuniq tx-4 TIM
8gb mushkin enhanced silverline. stock cl9 @ 1.5V (see screenshot for actual ram speeds)
room temp 20.5C
Case: NZXT M59

RAM is running @ 1.60V
FYI- intel burn test was running while screenshot was taken, but final temp never topped 69C

What he said....

You just want to try and find the highest OC on the cpu first.. Its better to underclock the ram a little and get the most out of the cpu, it gives the best results. The difference of 200MHz in ram speed is usually not noticeable except in benchmarks..

Out of curiousity, what voltage is your CPU @?

Your temps seem alright, if not a bit high imo. I have my 760 @ 3.70GHz with 1.175V and temps never peak past 60

my cpu is 1.28125 and imc is 1.23125

those are current values, cpu was 1.285 as of my prior post. im now idling about 3 degrees cooler, im gonna run IBT one more time and if its stable ill continue dropping voltages.

Any suggestions on how to handle the IMC voltage though? should it just be set to auto?

Just set it yourself. Generally the lowest you can keep it stable at. Keep it within .5v of the DRAM/RAM voltage though. So if you were to set the DRAM Voltage to 1.65v you wouldn't want IMC any lower than 1.15v. I'd give it a little extra cushion there and not go below 1.2v on the IMC for 1.65v RAM just in case the mobo is overvolting the RAM any from where it is set at, which wouldn't be unheard of.
