intel 2600K or amd PHENOM II X6 1100T?! HELP - Page 7

Wow lets really stop arguing shall we. Why don't we just all accept the following statements which are pretty much indisputable.

-Intel pretty much owns AMD atm in terms of performance
-You can pretty much Always build a cheaper amd rig
-Sandybridge vs Phenom is not an equal fight
-Nahelem/Westmere vs Phenom is not an equal fight
-Intel makes you pay a premium for the top performance, AMD would do the exact same if they had the top chip.
-Intel is faster clock-for-clock than amd
-AMD is has a dollar-for-price ratio
-Thus if money is not an object, go intel. If it is, go AMD.

That's all I can think of....

and one more point u forgot to add klue22 is that
amd proccy temps are t case temps not actual core temps thats why they appear lower than intel and as opposed to this the intel temps r the actual core temps.....
i have heard enough whinig by amd fanboys stating there proccy is cooler.....
that is also not equal fight.......

AMD temperature sensors is not accurate . And AMD architecture is old . Thr is no direct comparison between Intel And AMD .

They're accurate under full load, IIRC AMD said that the temps sensors give very inaccurate idle readings but that was the design as that meens you get accurate load readings, Afteral load temps are the most important to monitor.

There's a thread about it in the AMD section.

Not you're wrong, but trying to understand how something that doesn't work at low temps automagically corrects itself when it's most needed at high temps.

Honestly, I'm curious.

You guys buy AMD. So they don't run out of business

While I buy Intel. And enjoy the killer performance

I don't like idea of monopoly Intel. Thanks for the spillover benefits!

intel temps r actual internal core temps...but amd's sensors r not placed inside the cores and hence the repored temprature is always 20-25 degress lower than the actual internal core temp...hence u get to see amd max temps in the range of 40-55 while intels max can reach 90 too......
