I want a 8800GTX over this P.O.S card (sig rig). -_- heck, as long as it can play GTA IV on medium settings (1280x1024+) then its an acceptable card.

Still running my good ol' 8800gt, love it. Works fine for my level of gaming needs, probably won't need to upgrade for another year or more.

I wouldn't knock an 8800 GTX too hard. Having one now is more for a nostalgia or fun factor I suppose They are good for gaming in most respects, they will still run most anything on high with moderate AA and Anisotropic filtering. I would much rather use an 8800 ultra not a GTX as the Ultra has better temps by a few degrees and a noticeable performance increase over the GTX. Besides, not many cards look more badass than an 8800. They are still a recognizable card that gets respect from all crowds. Kind of like an old muscle car. Not really efficient, nor all too powerful but truly respectable and just plain cool. The cards are not loud either. I really dont know where too many get off with that point. I have 3 8800 Ultras in my current setup. They run everything and definately are not loud. They are noticeable but not loud compared to many modern and current options. Mind you mine are in Tri-Sli so the heat makes them run a bit louder than normal. I would suggest looking into something a bit newer for an aspect of future usability but just for kicks the 8800 is well worth the trouble of owning.

I might wait until mid-range Kepler comes out, thank you.

Or if prices for the GTX 560 drop.

with the power it needs... there are better cards that use as much power as it does so its not worth it anymore. Its old, and obsolete.

The card will still be much better than the Xbox 360 gpu, but games are coded just for the consoles specs so the 8800gtx is still good but not good for the modern games if you want settings at a whopping high.

um no
8800 GTX > 128 cores
GTS 450 > 192 cores

that alone should be a big difference. then we take clock speed into consideration and the difference is more pronounced.
