I was thinking the same thing, do you know if you could share a drive with similar file types between Mac OSx and Windows 7 64bit OSx? Like just video and photo storage?

I'm pretty sure that OSX can read an NTFS partition. I Don't think windows can read an HFS partition without some kind of 3rd party driver though.

The reliability should be the same, but I can't say with 100% certainty
Sooooooo the difference in performance is negligible? I want to RAID0 2 drives for games and I cant decide whether to go with 2 2tb or 1tbs...

Why would you RAID 0 HDD for games?

If one died you'd be S.o.L. but yeah, the performance is pretty similar.

I do. If one failed i'd just re-install / re-download them.

Well its pretty much a toss-up between the Spinpoint F4's and these:

Start your own threads. But is the 2TB more likely to crap out on me? Is the speed difference going to be more noticeable when I'm using it for video editing?

Just used the F3 1TB as the main drive in my new system, thus far(just over a month or so) it has been wounderfull! very snappy drive, loads windows pretty fast. however "IMO" i would stay away from the slower(5400rpm) drive if your going to use this as the boot drive BUT! match the 5400rpm hdd with a 60-ish GB SSD and your ready to rock and roll

well i know the rating on the us newegg site is lower on the F4 2tb cause of them crapping out...and the F3 is almost 5star avg. And i love how ppl say samsungs rma service is crap cause if they would just use the link they print on the harddrive. Its cake to get it done.

If your cpu is fast enough to chew the data, then yeah the slow drive will make the encoding process slower, but i that is if your doing more then one thing on that drive at a time, depending if your working with raw uncompressed vid.
