How is this possible?

post #1 of 3
Thread Starter
I am new to the O/C'ing thing. I have messed around a little but not a lot. I have recently went xfire with 2 5850 cards. One is an Asus and I have run it normally at 840/1050 and run smooth (around 125 fps on COD:BO with normal settings). Last week I bought a Diamond 5850 (to save a little money, big mistake) and it is locked at 725-775 core.

First off I have read the threads on flashing the bios and I am not ready to try that yet. I would hate to have a $175 brick on my hands.

Last night I set my cards to run at 775/1075 and I was getting FPS around 75-100, maybe up to 125. I went back out and changed them to 725/1050 and the FPS jumped up to 125-160. This was all done in CCC/Overdrive.

Any Help would be appreciated, below is my system specs.

My system:
Motherboard: ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO/U3S6 AM3 AMD 785G
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz
Memory: OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM 1600(8GB)
Cards: Asus 5850 and Diamond 5850 {both 725/1000}
Cooler: ZALMAN 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler
System: Windows 7 64bit Professional
Case: Antec 900
Power Supply: PC Power and Cooling 750W CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Just flash the card. You can't brick it because you have the 2nd card. to get an original bios back from. I would get a custom bios to flash the diamond and if that works flash the asus as well.

you can fill out ur system specs in the user control panel

I am not actually having a problem with the asus. I can O/C it with no problem. Is there a better Bios than the one that I have with it? I keep saying this in everything that I post, but I am very new to all this.
