RAM question

Thread Starter
Got a quick question that I wanted to get answered.

I currently have this RAM - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-260-_-Product

and since I have most times 2-3 applications of WoW open in the background and playing other games at the same time, I sometimes run out of memory or get really close to it.

Was wondering how this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231314 would compare to what I have at the moment, besides the obvious size difference.

Would they OC at all? Would the be slower, faster, the same as my current sticks?

The 8gb set will be about the same speed as your current as it has the same frequency and timings. Although, the 8gb has lower stock voltage so I would venture to guess that they could clock higher at the same voltage as your current set. Meaning, in theory, it could be faster.

After reading the reviews, however, I see that there is a mild prevalence of DOA with that particular set. JFYI

For multi gaming it is better to have 8 or 16 gb of ram.

You may think of getting a 6 core cpu, which it depends on how many games you play at a time.

Just waiting on Bulldozer. Didn't think it was worth it this close to upgrade to a 6 core atm. But I have definitely already thought about it.
