According to a little internet buzz that was dug up by a few angry customers, the update should go live this weekend. However, that is just speculation. Some say it will be OTA and some say it will not be.

I've been running official froyo on my Rogers Captivate for quite some time now... 2 months?
Sure samsung has been slower than others, but not early as bad as sony with their X10 Xperia.

I think your blame is misplaced.
You hate should be directed towards AT&T, not samsung.

the only software issue ive seen with samsung is that their USB-connectivity is really screwy. (yet my old Samsung a737 never had a problem) their KIES update program is finicky, but they have a 'lite' version now that works fine
