Between asus directcu ii 580 and MSI twin frozr II oc 580

Ive heard a lot of great, and not so great things about these cards. Asus' main issue is the sheer size of the card, tri pci-e slot. And the twin frozr crashes and has mouse issues with crysis.

Anyone here have knowledge on these, or have any suggestions on a different card?

Care to link the info about the crash/mouse problem for the msi card? Also, I've had nothing but good things happen when I buy msi cards, especially the twin frozr II ones . But if that crash/mouse problem is just happening to one person, I wouldn't let it scare me away from it and would most likely pick the msi card. The Asus Direct CUII I believe is on par with the Twin Frozr II. But that Asus card is just way too big for my liking.

Its mentioned in newegg reviews, and a few threads on msi forums. Apparently you just need to up the voltage. But to someone who hasn't so much as put a graphics card into a computer, upping voltage sounds hard.

And I would link, but im on my itouch currently.

The twin frozr 580 is a reference design pcb. The only difference between the MSI and say a reference EVGA is the coolers it uses are different. So I don't really see how the MSI can have mouse issues. And if the MSI really does have mouse issues, wouldn't every other reference pcb design be in the same situation.

The Asus directcu on the other hand is NOT a reference design PCB...

dont worry about those crashes they happened to me too but i rolled back drivers and i was fine...what actually happening was that the drivers were crashing midgame and recovering instantly so sometimes the user were not getting any warnings and the game was crashing to the desktop.....but u could see the drivercrash log in the event viewer......
currently im using 259.22 they r the most stable ones for me followed by 260 drivers....

Mouse issue is in that link also actually. It says mouse selecting (I'm assuming clicking) doesn't work. Then you have to tab through menus apparently.

I dunno, I'm just the messenger!

Edit: Ghost, that makes sense! Thanks for the vote of confidence! Looking like I'm ordering a Twin Frozr II/OC gtx 580 tonight!

I love my TwinFrozrII cooler on my GTX465GE. Keeps temps aight for being at max voltage, and doesn't make any mechanical noise that I can notice.
