On further inspection, Amazon shows model numbers. The model numbers for the 25nm and the 34nm manufacturing processes are as follows:
25nm - 2VTXE60G (55GB capacity)
34nm - 2VTX60G (60GB capacity)
On Amazon, there are 2 models of the Vertex 2 120GB. The first is the
, with reduced performance. There's an E
in the model number at the end of the item title listing.
The second model is the
. I'm not sure if these drives are lesser in performance compared to their 2.5" counterparts, but these don't seem to have an E
in their model number descriptions. Might as well go with the 3.5" drive if it doesn't have any adverse effects against the 2.5" version.
Or, Amazon might have been quick to jump the gun and just edited the model number into their listing, while still selling the 34nm models, to exhaust stock. It's a hit and run.
