Upgrading from my current i7-950 config

Already ordered an unlocked i7-2600k $325 shipped

Need advice on a motherboard. I was thinking of going with the
Asus Sabertooth P67 board for about $220
Any other recommendations?

Also will I be able to use the same ram power-supply and cooler I have on my current i7-950 rig?

I have the ECO A.L.C. Water Cooler CPU cooler currently on my i7-950
1600 corsair DDR3 tripple channel memory
1000W PSU

Will be transferring my XFX 6970 over to this rig.

Any components that wont be compatible? I am new to the P67 and sandybridge.

the ram should be ok but you would only be able to run in duel channel basicly 2 sticks...

the cpu cooler should be ok it uses the same space settings as the x58 for mounting plates biggrin.gif

here is a pretty cool video of the bios [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YL1qyndwfs4[/ame]

They all run dual channel, its not going to run anything else even if all dimms are full.Triple channel is the x58 chipset i7's i believe.

Hey slightly off topic but could I ask if you guys use the U3 or X1 setting in the bios under Onboard Devices Configuration. I understand it's purpose but it's not clear which is best to use. I don't currently use any USB 3 devices.

for me it didnt make a difference so i kept X1 as i have 0 usb3 products at the mo well in a few weeks will have a razor tron keyboard and mouse both are usb3 and on preorder.. so will try the u3 setting once i get them afaik it basicly doubles the power & bandwidth in and out of the usb devices also been told you can still use x3 with any usb 2 device as there backwards compatable with usb2..
