XFX wants to upgrade my card... - Page 2

Tell them that an AMD product is unacceptable and that you want an invidia replacement may it be there brand or someone doses it doesn't matter. You paid for invidia tech not amd. Make sure to bring up the point that you bought these cards way before xfx released to the public that they were not going to produce nvidia products. So it's not your fault, it's theirs and that need to correct the issue.

Here's the deal: They don't have nvidia cards. I don't know what to tell you and neither would they. Their offer currently is pretty generous and I'd probably hop aboard if I had two XFX cards. Their obligation is to fix my card, and they're a step above expected customer service by offering me an upgrade path.

I bet they do but there just trying to take the cheap way out. Also tell them that when they decided to drop nvidia they knew issues like this would happen. Thus the company has probably already estimated how much they were going to lose by having to upgrade people to new video cards in situations like this. Be sure to say that going from a 2 card solution to a single card solution is not acceptable. Also point out the original purchasing price of the card.

make a fuss about the sli setup asking for crosfire in return and upgrade your board or explain that one card is evga its not your fault they aint got anything on parr with gtx260 n nvidia

Because they haven't got your replacement i'd be milking it and stick to my guns for NVids and after a while they will offer you anything just so they don't have to buy you an NVid card of someone else's shelf.

Work it so you gain..

I'd say take the 5870 upgrade, then sell the 5870 on here. Take the money from that, and try to find another 260. If you can't, I'd suggest selling your other 260 and keeping the 5870. The 5870 is still a pretty good card, and if you don't want that, sell both and buy yourself a new gtx 560 or 570.

I understand that but what I am saying is that when they decided to drop nvidia they knew issues like this would arise. Amd that they would have pay out and go outnof the box to fix such issues. Tell them you will gladly send in the other evga card and if they won't do that then they have no option but to upgrade you to some other nvidia card they have in stock or the current offer.

They know what board I have, they know it supports Xfire and SLI.

Yeah I'll probably just have to make a big fuss about it and see where it goes.

I can't just "take it". The terms are two XFX 260s, I don't have that.

XFX are not going to give you any other options. They are only going to give you a gpu that will match the performance of the GTX 260 SLI. Last year, my buddy had a couple of 8800GT Alpha Dogs that had to be turned in and XFX gave him a 5850 Black Edition. In other words, be happy they are at least offering a gpu that has basically equal performance of those GTX 260's. But you should at least try to see if you can get a 6950 at minimum.
