In other words, be happy they are at least offering a gpu that has basically equal performance of those GTX 260's. But you should at least try to see if you can get a 6950 at minimum.
yeah sounds about right but his card was faulty, he bought it in good faith and a warranty still on it... it's gotta be a money back offer or find a replacement to honer there warranty... and if they can not then they will have to go out there way to help... just my thoughts of course...

I understand what you are saying but you have to remember that this is a lifetime limited hardware warranty which is specified on their site. The following is from XFX warranty site...

Quote:
During the duration of the limited hardware warranty, XFX or its authorized representative will repair any XFX-branded hardware products returned to us that prove to be defective in materials or workmanship. If XFX or its authorized representative is not able to repair the product, we will replace it with a comparable product that is new or refurbished.
No where on that site is stated that you can receive cash back. Would be nice to have that option but you don't. He should just take the 5870 (basically equal to GTX 260 SLI performance) or maybe see if he can get a 6950 (which I seriously doubt but would be nice) and be happy that XFX is still replacing equal performance. Yes, at the end of the day the cost for 2 GTX 260s may not equal the cost of a single 5870 but let's be realistic for a moment, sometimes you have to accept the cash loss OR is it just a loss because it's not a Nvidia gpu replacement?
