ALL 25nm drives from OCZ come preshipped with the v 1.28 firmware. You can easily check this with SSD life.

This isn't the first time OCZ sold a revised item with the same packaging. Remember the blue light Rally2 flash drive?

I used to like OCZ, but their shady marketing has made me question any future purchases.

Well, I've had my Vertex 2 exactly 4 months now with now problems.

But I am happily glad that's when I bought mine and not at a later date like atm.

Thanks to you guys posting these forum thread's notifying us about problems like this... Otherwise people would be in a ficklestick & would be angry.

Thanks for the heads up though

And OCZ shame on you!

So besides knowing what model number to buy to avoid this problem, who is the next best contender to OCZ? Crucial?
Oh no! First Intel steal our nanometers and now OCZ too?!

Seriously though, I've got two of these. I'm hoping they're the better ones

Other Sandforce drives like the Mushkin Callisto are on par. Crucial C300's too.
