volt moddin' 8300gs? - Page 2

ok the RT9214 chip is the one you need to mod. the second leg from the bottom right is the one you need to mod. there is a general volt mod guid on here somewere. im currently at work or i would help out more. mesure the resistor coming from that leg. the one just above the cereamic cap.

p.s: need this doing asap if poss, thanks

Usually you need tools for soldering(iron, solder, grease, wires) , a digital multimeter for resistance and voltage measurement and variable resistors.
A pencil mod might be possible, I'll check it later on my card. If so you only need the multimeter.

Well ive always got a spare soldering iron and solder and wires handy ofcourse. Ill have to get a multimeter from me dad's work or something. Just need to find out how to volt mod this thing, we will be the first ones to post it on the net! ive looked haha

I've checked my card and you can use a pencil to raise vGPU. Alternatively solder a 5K variable resistor between Pin 3 and 6 of the RT9214.
I will check the vMEM mod later.

Edit: Mods done and confirmed working.

vMEM can be done by using a pencil or 5K VR, just like the vGPU mod.

Default voltages:
GPU: 1.264V
VRAM: 1.938V

Default resistances:
GPU: 102 Ohms
VRAM: 86 Ohms
