Couple of Ram Questions

Thread Starter
Hello there!

1. I am looking at tri channel 6 gigs, tri channel 12 gigs and dual channel 8 gigs. For games how large is the difference between them? I'll be playing on 1080p for awhile but hoping to move up to higher resolutions soon!

2. I'll be using a 1366 board, is triple channel completely better?

3. The 8 and 12 gigs sets are gskill ripjaws, where as the 6 gig set is just 'gskill', are the ripjaws much better?

All the sets I've mentioned are DDR3 1600 mhz cas 9.

Thanks!

triple channel is better, it can address more RAM at once. specially on a 1366 board. 6gb is probs enough really. i do believe ripjaw is just the type of heatsinks?! like dominator RAM though dont quote me on that bit....

I'll look into the dominator series, how about the vengeance line? Both are corsair I believe.

You'll definitely want triple channel and can you post the links for the sets you are looking at?

Yes, go for triple channel (aka 6gb or 12gb) on a 1366 board. As for RAM type/brand it doesn't really really matter.

Just go for which has the most speed (1600mhz/1866mhz etc) vs. price. Timings do not really make a difference for games.

vengence is pretty cheap, and supposedl very good, i would go with that

Either set will be good, just depends if you want to spend the extra $ on the 12Gb. If I was you, I'd go for the 6.
