Thread Starter
Hey ocer's i am looking to possily go SLI 470's or just get an 580... Ive seen lots of benchmarks saying that 2 sli's run worse than 1 580 and ive seen lots that show it running on par if not a tad better than a 580... sooo whats the deal? whats ur opinions? also hows sling a 3rd card work nowadays? does it give a nice performance boost?

3rd card is a 30% boost in a best case scenario, I say go with the 580, one awesome single card with the ability to SLI down the road

2 GTX 470's will perform better than a GTX 580 by 10-20 FPS in most games.

I second the comment to go with the one 580. The ability to buy a second down the road is handy. Plus, having one of the top end cards tends to be quite a bit more efficient than the two power hungry 470's.

Check out this article, and double the numbers for the 470's.
