================================
Went to install Intel RST 10.1.2.1004 on my W7 x64 machine and received this error.
Code:
Intel(R) installation framework has stopped working.
This had happened on 10.1.0.1008 & 10.0.0.1046 as well.

I've tried unticking .net framework 3.5.1 under
Code:
Control Panel\\All Control Panel Items\\Programs and Features [Turn Windows Features on or off]
Rebooting and ticking .net framework 3.5.1 back on.

I still receive the error.

Would anyone have a suggestion?

I checked out guard32.dll, the dll belongs to Comodo firewall.

I'm still stumped on this.

If anyone could help, be much appreciated.

I got the damn thing Solved!

If anyone else runs into this problem like I did, this is what I had to do...

Ok.

I uninstalled Comodo Free Firewall.

Opened explorer, hit Alt, Tools\\Folder Options\\View Show Hidden Files, Folders and drives, Unchecked all the hide options.

Went to C:\\ in the search bar, I typed in guard32.dll.

I found the .dll file, right click copy, made new folder on Desktop, paste the .dll file in the New Folder, Right clicked on the guard.dll and winrarred it to isolate it from the system, then deleted the guard.dll from the New Folder and C:\\Windows\\SysWOW64. Rebooted.

Installed Rapid Storage Technology, Bam! No more errros! Installed like a champ.

Reinstalled Comodo Free Firewall....

What a mess. I knew it was not User Error.

Thank you for making your post without it I would have wasted countless more hours. I was having the exact same issue but it made no mention of guard32.dll instead ntdll.dll so I had no idea it was related to Comodo. After seeing your post I tried uninstalling Comodo and sure enough the application installed.

Yea, I don't understand it, anytime I update rst to a newer version, I've gotta completely uninstall comodo first.

Which application were you trying to install? Rapid Storage Technology?
