560ti sli vs single gtx 580

Thread Starter
Im sure some of you have already seen this comparison i am about to post, but hopefully someone can benefit from it.

I have been contemplating selling my gtx 460's in order to upgrade to 2x gtx 560ti's in sli. Alot of people here at ocn have recommended to get a single gtx 580 instead as it would be about the same as far as processing power. Another obvious advantage is the 1536mb or vram.

The following is a basic comparison of the two setups mentioned in this thread title.
This review was not done by me, so i cannot take any credit for it what so ever. I am simply posting this here for others that might be considering the same upgrade as me.

also the page i linked is just a single page in a multi page review. please use the arrow buttons at the bottom of the page to see the full review and other comparisons.

Credit goes to: Stuart Davidson (review), and Craig Humphreys (design)

That's actually closer than I was expecting. What are the clocks on the Palit 560s they used?

"NVIDIA clock the reference design card at 820MHz, 1640MHz shader and 1000MHz memory. Palit set it to 900MHz core and 1800MHz shader with the 1GB of Samsung GDDR5 memory on a 256-bit bus set to 1050MHz. There are 384 CUDA cores, 64 Texture units and 32 ROPS. PCIe 2.0, DirectX 11 and DirectCompute are all supported on this card as is acceleration of high definition content and the card can output 7.1 audio over HDMI including DTS Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD."

900mhz core 1800mhz shader 1050mhz vram
