What monitor is a good upgrade from a hp w2207h monitor?

What monitor would be a good upgrade from a hp w2207h monitor? my budget is 300$ max, but if you can convince me to spend a little more than i may consider it. Size should be 23-25 inches. I will be using the monitor mostly for gaming, with occasional photo editing. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Well as I'm sure you know, IPS panels are the way to go for Photo editing, and TN are usually the way to go for gaming. I use the Alienware Optx AW2310. So far the monitor has been great for games with its high refresh rate an low input lag. The only beef I've found with it would be it's washed out colors and of course poor viewing angles. The viewing angles not so much since I'm usually right in front of it, but the washed out colors can be a bit distracting, especially if you plan on doing some photo editing.

This one however seems to be a popular choice among IPS panels http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2410.htm

Thats 500$. I am looking for something around 300$, but thanks for the help anyway. Anything good at or around 300$ thats nice and would be an upgrade from my current monitor? I don't do very serious photo editing so its not the most important. I use the monitor mostly for gaming.

The Dell UltraSharp U2311H has been the best quality monitor you can get for $300 for a while now. It has an IPS panel, meaning that it has very wide viewing angles, and also very high color accuracy. It also has a stand that is height adjustable, can tilt, and pivot.

If you want to pay $100 less and get a monitor that is only slightly smaller but has the same quality, then look at the Dell Ultrasharp U2211H. I'd suggest this if you want a two or even three monitor setup.

You can get it at only $180 here:

For $200 here:

I mention these monitors because they're very well balanced in terms of features, quality, size, and price. The reviews say they're also great for gaming. Hope this helped.

For 300usd you can find a 27in samsung lcd with 1ms g2g. If you're set on limit to 25 there are many good ones for less than 250 on newegg.com I personally like the asus 23.5 inchers.
