[PC Gamer] 100 Best PC games of all time. - Page 13

Go to page four, look at number 68, what game does that remind you of?

All I can say is no way in hell Starcraft II deserves to be ahead of Half-Life.

If they're going to rate the games based on "all time", then the rating should be heavily weighted on the time it was released.

Otherwise in 10 years time, their "best of all time" will be largely games of that era, and again, it shouldn't include "all time" in the title.
Some games are still great despite not having good graphics. If you're rating the best games on all time, you should be considering nothing but how good the game is today, not how good it was when it came out.

Dude, rant all you want. PCMAG wanted to have 12 judges make a list, which they did. Nothing you can do about it. move on...

Sure, good games maintain their high status even after the hype has settled. This is why i disagree to put very recent games on the list, other than advertising purposes.

I think the editors wanted to maintain a balance to satisfy all ages and readers, so they had to pick some random titles here and there.

But the list should have been genre specific. This here is a mess

Games that are available on consoles shouldn't be on this list at all, there should only be true PC games on the list. Not these ****ty console game like Left for Dead, Mirrors Edge, Mass Effect, Burnout, GTA IV, Splinter Cell... It's absolutely ridiculous that NONE of the amazing PC-ONLY Dawn of War games were not included.

The claim that ‘Y is back and Xier than ever’ never excited me until the Y was the Shepard I made for Mass Effect, and the X was ‘high-polycount’.
so true...

Everyday I would rush home from elementary school to play Wing Commander 2. I used to have nightmares about the Kilrathi. I remember I specifically got a paper route to go from a 286 to a 386 which was like $2,000 back then just for Wing Commander. It made me alter my afternoons everyday for a year.

And Heroes of M&M 2? I remember when I found out that these called Mods existed, someone created a LoTR mod for Heroes 2, I think I played for weeks in a darkened room without showering.

And now that I think about it, the Turn-Based Star Wars strategy rebellion was pretty incredible. I'm not sure why, but I remember not doing so well my sophmore year in college because of that game.

I'm just basing it on the average time I spend playing games as the best games.

And yes whoever mentioned Kings Quest or any of the early sierra adventure games.

I still play Rome Total war. And if Tie Fighter was ever re-released. I think my head would explode.

I'm not sure the listed is ranked. I mean, how can you rank 100 games, and it's always gonna be persona preference.

People should stop with all the fanboy rage and use the list as reference for all the great games that were made. I took note of a bunch that I haven't played yet.
