Will It Work? Why or why not...

I have three dell xps 1210's
I have two motherboards with the geforce go 7400, one without. I would like to move the chip for the go 7400 to the intel motherboard.
The plain intel graphics mobo has a place for the 7400, and I have the proper heatsink for said 7400. they are identical motherboards in everthing EXCEPT the videocard.
HERE is my plan, I heat the mobo with the 7400 up to 350 degree in the oven for 16 minutes, thus melting the solder, then, using metal prongs, while in the oven, off the motherboard. Next I would let it cool. Then I would align the 7400 chip over the place where it could have gone on the intel graphics mobo. Place it in the oven oh so carefully. let it bake, then it would be a permanent fixture. BAM! now I have myself two mobos that work with the 7400.
The reason I would be moving it is that the second one with the 7400, is dead. Will post pictures of my plan if wanted. So all I want to know is... would this work?

Why not? just dont burn yourself

It might be just better to get a desoldering tool or a heat gun though sounds like you might easily burn yourself.

I'd go for it. The hardware is old enough that it probably wont really matter if it doesn't go as planned.

At the repair shop I work at, we do this once in a while IF we have the part. Otherwise we dont bother and just order a new motherboard.

How exactly do you do it, and do you have any tips?
I only work at a straight up pc repair place, not specializing in laptops, but out of all of them, I am most knowledgeable. Not like any of the was relevant.... lol
anyway recommendations and procedures?
